НЗИС reporting built into your daily workflow
Udentis captures the НЗИС data you already enter during appointments, treatments and invoicing, then validates, signs and submits dental records to the National Health Information System in three clicks. No separate portal, no manual XML, no re-typing patient details.

The problem
Every contracted dental clinic in Bulgaria must report clinical activity to НЗИС, but most teams still bridge the gap between their practice software and the national system with copy-paste, exported spreadsheets and late-night XML fixes. A missed nomenclature code, an outdated LPK mapping or an unsigned submission can delay reimbursement and trigger audit questions weeks later. Udentis was built to close that gap: required fields are captured as part of normal clinical work, submissions are validated before they leave your clinic, and every transmission is archived with its acknowledgement, so compliance becomes a by-product of doing your job, not a separate burden at the end of the month.
How it works in Udentis
What is НЗИС, and what your clinic must report
The National Health Information System (НЗИС) is Bulgaria's central platform for exchanging structured health data between providers, insurers and regulators. For dental clinics operating under an НЗОК contract, НЗИС is not optional background infrastructure, it is the channel through which performed procedures, patient identifiers, dentist credentials and related clinical documents must be reported within the timelines set by regulation.
Udentis maps every НЗИС requirement to a field in your existing workflow. Procedure nomenclatures, tooth notation, diagnosis codes, the attending dentist's LPK, and the patient's health insurance identifier are captured when you complete an appointment, not reconstructed from memory at month-end. The platform stays aligned with current НЗИС message schemas and nomenclature updates, so your team works with today's rules rather than a PDF specification from last year. NZOK financial reporting workflows are on our roadmap; clinical НЗИС submission is available today.

Submit dental records in three clicks
When an appointment is marked complete, Udentis assembles the НЗИС payload automatically: performed procedures, materials, tooth positions, the responsible dentist and all mandatory metadata. Before anything is sent, the built-in validator checks nomenclature compatibility, required field completeness and common rejection patterns, surfacing clear, actionable errors while there is still time to correct them at the chairside.
Submission itself takes three clicks: open the pending НЗИС record from the appointment, review the pre-filled summary, and confirm send. Udentis Desktop handles KEP signing in the background, transmits the message to НЗИС, and stores the acknowledgement receipt in the patient's audit history. No export to a USB stick, no logging into a separate government portal, and no manual correlation between what you treated and what you reported.

E-prescriptions issued from the patient record
Dental prescriptions in Bulgaria must meet НЗИС electronic format requirements and be signed with a qualified electronic signature before they reach the patient or pharmacy. Udentis lets you create an e-prescription directly from the patient profile or completed appointment, with medication nomenclature lookup, dosage fields and validity period pre-structured to match the current schema.
Once the prescribing dentist confirms the prescription, Udentis Desktop signs it with their KEP and submits it to НЗИС. The platform stores the issued prescription number, submission timestamp and status in the patient record, so if a pharmacist queries the prescription or an auditor requests documentation, you can retrieve the full trail without digging through email attachments or paper copies.

Referrals and specialist handoffs
Referring a patient to another provider, whether for oral surgery, imaging or a medical specialist, generates its own НЗИС message with specific fields for diagnosis justification, urgency and destination facility. Udentis guides the referring dentist through these fields at the point of decision, pulling patient demographics and clinical context from the record already open on screen.
The referral is validated, KEP-signed and transmitted through the same pipeline as dental records and prescriptions. Status tracking shows whether НЗИС accepted the referral and whether the destination provider has acknowledged receipt. Your front desk no longer needs to chase paper referral forms or wonder whether a digital handoff actually arrived.

Fetch dental history from НЗИС (D009)
When a patient has a НЗИС identifier on file, Udentis can request their dental treatment history directly from the National Health Information System. The request is signed with the dentist's KEP through Udentis Desktop and returns structured procedure history you can review before importing.
Imported history is clearly distinguished from records created in your clinic, so your team always knows which entries came from НЗИС and which were documented locally.

KEP signing with Udentis Desktop on macOS and Windows
НЗИС submissions, e-prescriptions and referrals all require a qualified electronic signature (KEP / QES) from the responsible clinician. Browser-based signing is unreliable across card readers, smart-card middleware and operating system configurations, which is why Udentis ships a dedicated desktop companion: Udentis Desktop, available for macOS and Windows.
Udentis Desktop runs locally, communicates securely with your clinic's Udentis account, and invokes your installed KEP certificate when a document needs signing. The web application queues the signing request; the desktop app handles the cryptographic operation and returns the signed payload for transmission. Your team keeps working in the browser; the signing step that government systems require happens through a controlled, tested local path that supports the card readers and middleware configurations Bulgarian dentists actually use.

Go live in fifteen minutes
НЗИС integration does not require a multi-week IT project. Udentis onboarding walks your administrator through the essentials in a single guided setup: enter your clinic's RZI registration details, map each dentist's LPK to their Udentis profile, install Udentis Desktop on the machines that hold KEP certificates, and run a test submission against the НЗИС test environment.
Most clinics complete initial configuration in about fifteen minutes. Nomenclature catalogues ship pre-loaded and update automatically when НЗИС publishes changes. Your existing patient records, appointment history and treatment templates do not need to be rebuilt, once the connection is verified, the next completed appointment is eligible for НЗИС submission. If you are migrating from another system, D009 import and CSV patient import can run in parallel with setup so day-one patients are not left out of compliance.

Reliability you can verify, 200+ automated tests
НЗИС schema changes, nomenclature revisions and edge cases in dental coding create a long tail of submission failures that only show up in production, unless your software tests against them first. Udentis maintains a dedicated НЗИС test suite of over 200 automated tests covering message assembly, validation rules, signing workflows, error handling and acknowledgement parsing across the full range of dental record types.
When НЗИС publishes an update, our team runs the suite against the new specification before releasing to clinics. Failed submissions surface human-readable error messages tied to the specific field that needs correction, not opaque government error codes. Every transmission is logged with its request payload, response and timestamp, giving you a defensible audit trail if НЗОК or a regulator asks what was reported and when. We monitor НЗИС service availability and retry transient failures automatically, so a brief national-system outage does not silently drop your clinic's records.

Your clinic day, end to end
How this module connects to the rest of your practice.
-
1
Schedule and complete the appointment
The patient is booked, treated and marked complete in the appointments module. Treatment codes, tooth positions and the attending dentist are already attached to the record, the raw material for every НЗИС submission.
Appointments → -
2
Patient and insurance details verified
The patient profile holds the health insurance identifier, demographics and clinical history. Udentis cross-checks these against НЗИС requirements before a submission is generated, flagging missing or expired identifiers early.
Patients → -
3
Procedures coded from your treatment catalogue
Treatment kits and procedure templates carry НЗИС nomenclature codes by default. When the dentist confirms what was performed, the correct codes flow into the НЗИС payload without manual lookup.
Treatments → -
4
Invoice aligned with reported procedures
The invoice module generates billing from the same completed appointment data that feeds НЗИС. Procedure lines, НЗОК co-payment amounts and private fees stay consistent between what you bill and what you report.

5
Review, sign and submit to НЗИС
Open the pending НЗИС record, confirm the pre-filled summary, and submit. Udentis Desktop signs with the dentist's KEP, transmits the message, and archives the acknowledgement in the patient audit trail.

6
Prescriptions and referrals on the same rails
E-prescriptions and specialist referrals follow the identical validate-sign-submit pipeline. One integration, one desktop signer, one audit log, regardless of document type.

Who it is for
Solo practice
You are the dentist, the administrator and the person who used to stay late formatting НЗИС XML. Udentis captures everything during the appointment you just finished, and submission is three clicks away, signed through Udentis Desktop on your Mac or PC. No separate compliance day, no second software subscription. D009 import brings transfer patients up to speed in minutes, and the audit log means you can answer any НЗОК question from your phone.
Multi-dentist clinic
Each dentist has their own LPK mapped to their Udentis profile and KEP certificate on their workstation. The front desk sees a single queue of pending НЗИС submissions across all providers, with clear status indicators for validated, signed, sent and acknowledged records. When one dentist is on leave, their unsigned submissions are visible to the practice manager, nothing slips through because it was trapped on one person's machine.
Clinic group
Multiple locations under one organisation share nomenclature configuration and НЗИС validation rules, while each site maintains its own RZI registration and dentist LPK mappings. Central administrators can review submission status across branches without logging into separate НЗИС portals per location. D009 import and bulk patient migration tools support onboarding new acquisitions without a compliance blackout period during the transition.
